Happy summer to you all!
I hope you are finding time to put your feet up and read a good book. As many of you know, Lynne Alvine has been the chair for the Inglis Award Committee for many years. Her responsibilities include collecting nominations, ordering and presenting the award at the NCTE conference each year. Lynne has decided to pass the torch as chair of this committee. Thus, the executive board is looking for someone that is willing to take on the responsibilities of this committee, so WILLA may continue to reward those that have made significant contributions to the teaching of English language arts by focusing attention on gender-related issues. If you are interested in the position of committee chair for the Inglis Award or would like to nominate someone as chair please email Candice Moench at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from the members of WILLA’s community.
Also it is time to forward your nominations for the Inglis Award to Lynne Alvine at email@example.com. All women considered for this honor will have exhibited outstanding professional service relating to the role and image of women in the profession and in NCTE. The Inglis Award recipient will have shown excellence in scholarship/research, teaching, and service related to English language arts.
